Does it actually cool? How is it different from a regular fan?+
A regular fan only moves hot air around. CoolMist™ uses a 3-way design: semiconductor (Peltier) cooling plate, ice mist, and powerful airflow. The cooling plate generates instant cold, and the ice mist lowers perceived temperature. It's a completely different approach — and it earned strong backing on Kickstarter.
Can I use it in a rental? Do I need to drill into the wall?+
No drilling required. The included mount installs without damaging walls. Remove it when you move out. You can also place CoolMist on a bedside table, shelf, or desk.
How much does it cost to run?+
It draws just 15W — about the same as a standard light bulb. Run it all day for a fraction of what central AC costs.
How often do I refill the water? Is maintenance difficult?+
Depends on use, but roughly once per day. The slide-out tank makes refilling easy and spill-free. A weekly water change keeps things clean. Antimicrobial design helps prevent mold and odors.
How long does the battery last?+
